DISEC

Introducing the Committee

The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, tasked with addressing global peace and security issues. It focuses on matters related to disarmament, arms control, non-proliferation, and the regulation of conventional and weapons of mass destruction. DISEC plays a key role in fostering international cooperation to prevent conflict, reduce military tensions, and promote a safer world. In Model United Nations, delegates in DISEC debate complex security challenges, negotiate resolutions on arms limitations, and work toward maintaining international peace.
